So happy to have discovered this place, really! It took me a while to write this blog because I was thinking I was too ecstatic to write right after dining. But now that I’m in the proper head space, I can assure you that all the things you’ll be reading are 💯 accurate.
We were coming from Matabungkay, Batangas and Stefan suggested that we have lunch at Reynaldo’s at Tagaytay. He watched it from one of Ninong Ry’s vlogs haha, and we decided to give it a try.
They are stern in implementing the safety protocols which is great: contact tracing forms, temperature check, guests are one-seat-apart, and all the staff are wearing masks and face shields.

For our appetizer, we had their Golden Onion Rings. They use their signature batter on the onion rings which makes it extra crispy and as the name states, golden.
The real event starts now, I can still remember how happy I was when the waiter puts the dishes on our table one by one. First off, Reynaldo’s Sizzling Wagyu Sisig!
I love sisig, and this sisig is just so many levels higher than your ordinary sisig because of course, it’s wagyu. I just love how juicy and melts-in-your mouth this sisig is. Really a must-try!
Where do I even start with this Smoked Barako Beef Belly 🤤 my love for coffee and beef belly in one! I think the kapeng barako has further elevated the flavor of “smoke” in the beef belly, this dish is really so good.
Ahhh, my favorite, the best kare-kare I’ve ever tasted (no joke), Reynaldo’s Corned Beef Kare-Kare! The beef is so tender and the sauce – just perfect. I love how creamy the peanut sauce is! The veggies are wonderfully blanched too. I would seriously go back to Reynaldo’s just to have this kare-kare one more time.

Lastly, to balance the meat out we also ordered their Bangus Sofrito. Like the onion rings, it’s also fried to perfection. I actually didn’t expect that it will also be as good as the other dishes since their specialty is on meat. But everything we just ordered that day has been exceptional.
While dining, and since we can’t really have a conversation because we were seated apart, I was contemplating on how good this restaurant really is. The ambiance is great as well and is perfect for events (or maybe I’m just thinking of more reasons to be back lol.)
