Hello Kitty Cafe

Hello Kitty Cafe is located at the 3rd floor of Uptown Mall, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. One word to describe this place – nostalgic!

The interior of the restaurant is full of vibrant colors – another instagram-worthy restaurant that is haven for Hello Kitty lovers! If you grew up in the Sanrio era, this cafe is a must-visit!

There are quite plenty to choose from their menu, despite being a cafe which I thought will only offer fancy drinks and desserts, they also serve appetizers, main courses, pastas, and a lot more! Here are the dishes that we have tried:

Spaghetti Bolognese (365 php)

Their spaghetti bolognese is a typical french spaghetti which is rich and meaty. It is paired with tiny ham sandwiches which are of course stamped with Hello Kitty patterns! The ham sandwiches are tasty as well. It is then topped with a Hello Kitty bow to make the presentation pop a little bit more.

Smoked Salmon and Creme (565 Php)

At first, I thought we’ve been cheated with the smoked salmon slices because the salmon slices you see in the photo are in fact very thin and I thought that’s it. However, the pasta holds more of smaller salmon bits which compliments very well with the creaminess of the sauce! The salad on the other hand is fresh and not overpowered by the dressing.

Pork with Herbs de Provence (525 Php)

This dish is very tempting! When looking up the menu, this is on top of the list of what I want to order. The presentation is very pleasing. However, the pork is a bit of a let down because it’s overcooked and also a bit dry. Dipping it to the sauce helped a lot and the mashed potato is also to the rescue. Not to mention the veggies – the beans are very fresh and crunchy and the tomatoes are a good combination of sour and sweet!

Shrimp Scampi (440 Php)

The shrimp scampi pasta is my favorite! If you know me, or you’ve read some of my previous posts, you’ll know for sure that I love shrimp! Hello Kitty Cafe didn’t let me down with their shrimp scampi, it was delightful! It is very well balanced – the strong flavor of the shrimp was balanced by the pasta with a little acidity, I really love the flavor.

They also offer lots of sweets- cakes, eclairs, biskies, and profiteroles!

Mango Charlotte (520 Php)

Some of their cakes come in two sizes, small and large. We had their small mango charlotte and I’m not really a fan. The mango flavoring is there but needs to be accentuated more. The broas are near mushy – I’m not sure if it’s still supposed to be crunchy but I was expecting it to be more solid.

Overall, our dining experience was great! We were overwhelmed by the place’s fancy vibes and immediately took photos of every corner! The dishes, as served one at a time, received too much attention and were photographed a hundred times before we actually started to eat, haha!

I’d love to try more of their menu especially the cakes! And of course, I’ll come back for their Shrimp Scampi!
